Our Executive Committee Members are responsible for the day to day operations and facilitate decision making between board meetings or in urgent and crisis circumstances. Our local advocacy initiative has executive members who co-chair 1 of our 11 sub-committees and organizational development for the leadership of BLM Memphis.

Native Memphian, married 20 years, mother of 3. A firm believer in radical, social, civil, and educational justice. I am determined to make a difference in my community. Certified K-6 Classroom Teacher with Shelby County Schools, Former President of United Education Association of Shelby County (UEA) in Memphis, TN, the local teachers union affiliated with Tennessee Education Association (TEA) and the National Education Association (NEA)

Mama Peaches

Karen Spencer McGee is the Chairwoman of our Butterfly “Healing” Committee. Mama Peaches is a mother, community organizer/activist, freedom fighter, and attended Lane College. She is a mother to the motherless who seeks to heal the world with love. My trauma made me believe I could heal the wounds and save our youth.

Mother, Musician, Interculturalist, Human Rights Activist, RevoSolutiarian for change and Justice. Racial Equity advocacy and historical neighborhood preservation. UTK graduate received a BA in political science minor in African Studies. MAIS from Union University. There is a voice for those who are afraid to speak and when we are silent we cannot speak therefore we cannot breathe. We will not be silent anymore. Black Lives Matter
